Inin Rao es una marca de productos naturales que utiliza el aceite esencial de una planta amazónica silvestre llamada “piripiri”. Alemerce Amasifuen, una agricultora de 27 años de San Francisco, una pequeña comunidad ubicada a 19 kilómetros de la ciudad de Pucallpa en la Amazonía peruana, lanzó la marca en 2019 para salvar y propagar plantas en peligro de extinción.

Como miembro del grupo indígena Shipibo-Conibo, Alemerce sabe que los frutos del bosque deben ser protegidos. Por esta razón, y con el apoyo de su padre, cosecha de manera sostenible el aceite esencial de piripiri, que es considerado por los Shipibo-Conibo como una forma sagrada de medicina tradicional.
LAS PROPIEDADES MEDICINALES
La planta nativa piripiri ha despertado el interés de científicos que buscan explorar sus propiedades medicinales, incluyendo efectos antiinflamatorios y analgésicos. Actualmente se está explorando sus posibles aplicaciones en la industria alimentaria y cosmética, lo que aumenta su valor.
La conexión de Alemerce con el piripiri atraviesa generaciones. Su abuela compartió el conocimiento ancestral sobre el cultivo con la familia.
Su padre también asumió la costumbre de cultivar piripiri, promoviendo así una práctica sostenible y amigable con el medio ambiente.
Inin Rao surgió de ese patrimonio familiar. Alemerce reconoció la importancia de preservar el piripiri como una forma de promover el cultivo sostenible y evitar la deforestación.
NACE ININ RAO Y SU DESARROLLO
Después de completar sus estudios de farmacia en Pucallpa, Alemerce regresó a San Francisco. Aplicó sus conocimientos de farmacia al negocio de cultivo de piripiri de su familia y lanzó Inin Rao poco tiempo después.
La Alianza por la Amazonía, una actividad de USAID implementada por la ONG Cedro, proporcionó la base para el crecimiento de Inin Rao. Alemerce recibió educación financiera y asistencia técnica para ayudarla a crear un modelo de negocio. Aprendió habilidades de gestión empresarial y recibió carretillas y una cortadora de césped para ayudar con la cosecha de piripiri.
El apoyo no se detuvo ahí. Alemerce recibió valiosa orientación en marketing digital y estrategias de ventas, lo que le dio las herramientas para lanzar una presencia en redes sociales y vender su producto en ferias.
SE INTERNACIONALIZA ININ RAO
Con el apoyo de USAID y Cedro, Alemerce ha llevado a Inin Rao a nuevos horizontes. En solo 4 años, sus productos de aceite esencial y jabón han atraído una alta demanda tanto a nivel nacional como internacional. Por ejemplo, Inin Rao aumentó su producción en un 360% para exportar 12 litros de aceite esencial de piripiri a Francia e Israel.
Alemerce sueña con usar su éxito empresarial para brindar un mejor futuro a sus dos hijos. Su determinación y dedicación son un faro de esperanza en medio de la selva amazónica, demostrando que el compromiso con el desarrollo sostenible puede abrir las puertas a la prosperidad.
