El Servicio Nacional de Meteorología e Hidrología (Senamhi) informó que las lluvias persistirán en la región Arequipa hasta el próximo domingo 16 de febrero. Este pronóstico fue presentado a las autoridades durante la reunión de la Plataforma de Defensa Civil, llevada a cabo en el hemiciclo de la Municipalidad Provincial de Arequipa.

Las intensas lluvias registradas en la provincia están relacionadas con el calentamiento de las aguas del mar, lo que ha generado temperaturas de hasta 30 grados en las zonas costeras de Arequipa. Este fenómeno produce vientos cálidos que ingresan a los valles costeros e interandinos, convirtiendo a la región en un área propensa a precipitaciones, explicó José Luis Ticona, especialista del Senamhi.
Ante esta situación, el Senamhi ha emitido una serie de avisos meteorológicos de corto plazo, alertando sobre la intensidad de las lluvias previstas para los próximos días.
LLUVIAS EN LA VALLE MAJES
En particular, se destaca que este 14 de febrero se esperan fuertes precipitaciones en la ciudad de Arequipa, así como en los valles interandinos y costeros. Los especialistas advierten que las lluvias podrían ser más intensas en el valle de Majes, en la provincia de Castilla por lo que recomiendan extremar precauciones, especialmente en las quebradas ubicadas en Aplao.
Aunque se prevé que las lluvias continúen hasta el domingo 16 de febrero, se espera que su intensidad disminuya gradualmente. Sin embargo, las autoridades instan a la población a mantenerse alerta y tomar las medidas necesarias para evitar riesgos.
